How to Apply
Getting started
Starting out in the world of TEFL can seem overwhelming, and TEFL recruiters exist to smooth the way. With years of experience and an in-depth understanding of the industry, TTR acts as a bridge between talented EFL teachers and the quality organisations that need them.
Over the years we have established firm relationships with reputable teaching establishments worldwide, so you know you’re in safe and reliable hands.
Some tips for interview stages!
Whether you are at the first preliminary stage (audio Skype call) or in the video Skype interview, make sure that you are in a quiet space, have reliable internet connection and always have a pen/paper ready as we will go through lots of information during each session!
For the video Skype interview, we know that nerves are normal, but what we are looking for in our ideal teacher is someone with a great personality. So just be yourself, don’t forget to smile and try to enjoy the interview process!
The placement process
We aim to keep your placement as smooth and stress-free as possible, and we follow a four-step process to help you find your ideal role.
Apply: Submit your CV and a recent photo (head and shoulders, smiling and professional) to tomoko.teflrecruitment@outlook.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible if you fit the role.
Interview stages: Suitable candidates will be contacted to arrange a 20 minute audio Skype call. We may also request a brief 2-3 minute introduction from our candidates. Following that, applicants may be invited for an in depth video Skype interview. Here we’ll discuss the role in detail to ensure you are well-informed and comfortable, then discuss previous work experience, qualifications and run through some possible teaching scenarios. Please note that for each of our locations (China, Japan and Saudi Arabia) we require a demo lesson of our candidates teaching. TTR will then liaise with the establishment in-country to secure the position if you’re successful.
Pre-Departure: On successful placement TTR will assist teachers with every step to ensure that they are ready for departure.
Arrival: On landing in-country, you’ll be met by school staff who will help you settle in. TTR will be on hand via We Chat or LINE phone apps to ensure that you have a smooth transition into your new role.
